How To Get Quarried Stone In Skyrim

Quarried Stone?

Where can I find quarried stone? I've tried finding the locations by using filled out maps in my other Skyrim games or by googling them, but I can't find them. Am I missing a special tool or am I simply missing them?

It's usually right near the house you're building. Try looking around some more if you are in fact building one.

There is Quarry Stone by your Build-able house by Falkreath. Right by the Anvil/Construction place. Follow that small mountain side just south of it. Look for a small patch of mine-able stone. Hack away with a pick axe.

There's also one near the smelter in dawnstar on the higher platform.

Both quarried stone and clay should be right by the plot of land your house is on, or at least in the case of Lakeview Manor. Also, don't worry about running out of either when you mine them. According to the UESP, there's plenty to finish three houses and not run out. Ever.

There's 4000, to be specific.

If you hire a steward, you can get then to just buy your quarried stone for you. Beats mining it yourself!

near where the clay deposit is for your house, usually.

The spot will be lighter color than the surrounding stone.

You'll need a pick-ax. Approach a "light-colored" area in an otherwise grey mountain and get to swinging.
